ROANOKE ISLAND WATER SYSTEM EXPANSION PROJECT INFORMATION
The Dare
County Water Department works to provide a service to
the community that promotes safe, clean, healthy, fresh
water for drinking and other purposes, 24 hours a day, for a
reasonable cost.
Four out of the five water plants are reverse
osmosis plants: Kill Devil Hills, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe and
Frisco, and the fifth is a fresh water softening plant on Roanoke Island.
The five plants provide drinking water for all of the public
water supplies from Sanderling to Hatteras Village,
Roanoke Island and Stumpy Point.
Serving Avon,
Buxton, Colington, Duck, Frisco, Hatteras, Kitty Hawk,
Roanoke Island, Rodanthe, Salvo, Southern Shores, Stumpy
Point, and Waves.
