PARAMEDICS

Dare County is accepting applications for EMT-Paramedics. Applicants will participate in a program to provide 24-hour emergency medical aid and assistance to the general public. They must be knowledgeable of all phases of emergency medical services, be responsible for specialized emergency medical and emergency cardiac treatment; and operate emergency life support equipment for the sick or injured prior to arrival at a hospital. Dare County operates 11 ambulances and 1 medivac helicopter out of 8 stations located throughout the County utilizing 24/48 shift staffing. Applicants must be 18 years of age with a High School diploma/ GED and posses a valid Driver's License. Must have appropriate NC-EMTP certification or be eligible for certification via legal recognition ("reciprocity") and hold current CPR, ACLS, PALS, & BTLS cards. Applicants should be up to date with their Continuing Education. Pre-employment drug screening, skills evaluation/oral boards, and a background/driver's license record check will be completed during the employment process. These positions are considered "Essential Personnel" positions. We offer: Starting salary commensurate with qualifications. PART-TIME LIBRARY ASSISTANT- KDH BRANCH

Dare County is accepting applications for the position of part-time Library Assistant at the Kill Devil Hills Library. Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, person is responsible for performing circulation desk duties, answering patron inquiries, shelving materials, and assisting in the processing of library materials. The Dare County Library is fully automated and offers public Internet access. DENTAL ASSISTANT-MOBILE DENTAL PROGRAM

Dare County Health Department is accepting applications for a Dental Assistant. This position will assists dentist chairside as needed, including set-up and clean up following exams and procedures. Orders and maintains instruments and supplies and assists in scheduling appointments and escorting patients. COMMUNITY HEALTH TECHNICIAN

Dare County Health Department is accepting applications for a Community Health Technician. Responsibilities include providing supportive personal care to patients in their homes for Home Health and Hospice. Duties also include assisting Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists and other professional personnel in providing care to patients. Considerable knowledge of routine care and treatment of acute and chronically ill clients; working knowledge of general physical problems of acute and chronically ill and obvious signs of condition changes; skill in providing personal care needs of clients, performing nursing assistance acts such as wound care dressings, irrigation of catheters, tube feedings, and enemas as well as assisting with physical exercises. Training and Experience Requirements: Demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities as stated above through at least two years of experience in performing similar tasks in a hospital, clinic, nursing home, medical corps, or medical treatment program. Applicants must be Certified Nursing Assistant I within four months of employment, but Certified Nursing Assistant II’s are preferred. NUTRITIONIST III

Dare County Health Department is accepting applications for a Nutritionist III. This full time position will work 37.5 hours per week and will provide professional nutritional services for clients with comprehensive nutrition needs by providing professional, direct client services. The position is based in the Manteo office of the Department of Public Health as part its clinical services, and periodically utilizes the Kill Devil Hills and Buxton satellite offices. This employee will provide comprehensive and in-depth nutrition assessments, counseling, and education; will develop and implement a therapeutic nutrition care plan for clients, will participate in the Diabetes Education program, will provide home health nutritional services, and will provide nutrition education within the community. Clients are referred from in-house programs as well as referrals from area health care agencies and providers. Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in foods and nutrition, public health nutrition, or dietetics and two years of nutrition experience plus ADA Commission on Dietetic Registration eligible or a master’s degree in nutrition or public health and one year of nutrition experience, plus ADA Commission on Dietetic Registration eligibility; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE (part-time)

Dare County Department of Public Health is accepting applications for a part time Public Health Nurse II (PHN II) position with benefits. The employee will work 20 hours per week as a Family Care Coordinator to clients enrolled in the Community Care Plan of Eastern Carolina (CCPEC) for Dare County.
